LEGO set: Roses (40460)

A tall, narrow rectangular simple black and white colorblock brick-built bud vase holding two red LEGO roses sits on a wooden surface, against a light gray background.

LEGO’s red roses are my favorite lower-priced botanical set. They have all the intricacy of the Flower Bouquet and Wildflower Bouquet, and the build is slightly different than the roses in the Flower Bouquet. But with just two flowers, they’re a great price point for a small gift or to try and see how you like this style of build.

I love those thorns, and the bright green claws beneath the flower! And the way the stems are built on these means you can adjust the length if you’d like to use a shorter vase, or have one stem longer than the other. (You can also use these stems on any of the Flower Bouquet or Wildflower Bouquet flowers, if you’d like to change the length on some of those.)

One flower stem is built with angled pieces to form a slight curve, while the other is straight.

Like the other flower sets, this one doesn’t come with a vase. So, I designed and built a simple black and white colorblock bud vase for them — see how to build it here!
