Does anyone else enjoy LEGO’s mini monthly model builds? This is the Viking Ship (40323) (and yes, it’s quite a bit smaller and simpler than the wonderful 3 in 1 version!)

But I kind of love the simplicity of these small-scale builds — they’re great for a low-key brick-building day. They’re fun to display in our sorting and building area too, since they don’t take up much space. I’ve never been to a LEGO store Make-and-Take event, but the instructions are available online, and it’s usually not that hard or expensive to buy the pieces you don’t already have from Brick Owl or BrickLink sellers.

Skeptical Viking minifigs shown for scale — they’re from the Viking Ship and the Midgard Serpent 3 in 1 set (31132), not from the mini build version. (But Viking minifig parts do sometimes turn up in LEGO’s Pick a Brick shop!)
