After I built my LEGO Flower Bouquet (10280), I needed a vase for it! Since LEGO didn’t make a vase set, and I didn’t feel confident enough in my building skills to create a MOC* I’d like, I started searching for SEC** instructions.
*MOC = My Own Creation; **SEC = Someone Else’s Creation
This is the White Brick Vase by thebricknurse. I purchased the downloadable instructions on Rebrickable (where many designers sell their instructions) here. It’s a great size, sturdy and large enough to display the entire Flower Bouquet or Wildflower Bouquet sets. Here, I’ve filled it with some color variations I built on LEGO’s Poppy, from the Flower Bouquet set. (The SEC instructions are for the vase alone, no flower builds included.)
Even as a recently-returned builder who hadn’t caught up on all the modern LEGO techniques and was still getting to know the newer pieces, I found the instructions clear and the build fairly straightforward. Now, I’m considering checking to see what other colors I could build it in — I think dark blue or one of the grays would be really pretty too!
One tip: If you have an older brick collection like we do, check to see if the white bricks and tiles you’re using have discolored over time. I ended up buying some new pieces from Brick Owl sellers to use for this.
